Original Medicare generally does not cover routine eye exams for eyeglasses or routine eyeglasses. Verify expected costs before buying.
Medicare Part B may cover one pair of eyeglasses with standard frames or one set of contact lenses after cataract surgery that implants an intraocular lens.
